Minute of Support for Intersex, Transgender, and Gender-Diverse People

Beacon Hill Friends Meeting (Quaker) records our deep love and solidarity with intersex,

transgender, and gender-diverse people and their families and caregivers. As Friends, we

celebrate “that of God in everyone,” and we testify that everyone is created equal. We are

alarmed by an environment that is increasingly hostile to intersex and trans people and

disregards their inherent dignity and civil rights. We hold in the light of God those impacted

by the harmful effects of transphobia, discrimination, and the lack of access to affirming

medical and mental-health care. We oppose government efforts to restrict or outlaw the

provision of healthcare to intersex, transgender, and gender diverse people, particularly

youth.
